The “Best in Class”

Developing with Visual Studio, we are always looking for components to make our life easier or to optimize performance. A few years ago we were looking for some components to replace the standard ones offered by Visual Studio: GridList, Chart, Pivot, etc… and we came across the guys of DevExpress. They have some fantastic .Net components and – not surprisingly – have received several awards in recent years. But the one that caught our attention the most is a framework they have developed to quickly build business applications. I’m referring to “eXpressApp Framework”, better known as XAF. This framework allows you to focus on data structures and application flow, and then automatically create WinForm and ASP.NET applications. 

After the initial skepticism, we decided to invest in this framework and today it is our development standard with enormous satisfaction: more than halved development time, flexibility in customization, a consistent design in every screen and the possibility to use indifferently different types of databases.
